KASC Tiny-Shots Academy

The KASC Tiny-Shots Academy is designed for U6 - U8 players interested in playing select soccer.

EPL League Information -The object of the league is to get the kids playing in a small-sided environment (6v6 including GKs) that encourages touches on the ball, yet provides enough space for success. We play all of our games at Hopewell Elementary.

Fields are 60 x 40 SAY passers fields. We observe SAY passers rules, with some exceptions.  Most notably all free kicks are indirect. No penalty kicks. Any fouls committed inside the penalty area are moved to the nearest spot outside the area where an indirect kick is awarded.  There is no offside rule; however, we trust that each coach instructs his or her team in the spirit of an offside rule. We play with a size 4 ball and two 25 minute halves. No scores or standings are documented. The focus is non-results oriented developmental soccer.

Saturday afternoons will again be the primary time slot for games with some possible Sunday exceptions.  We expect superior sportsmanship in the spirit of developmental soccer. We look forward to your participation. It will be a rewarding, developmental experience for your players.

Training - Players will train/practice two nights a week from 6:00pm-7:00pm at The Kolping Soccer Complex. Sessions will be focused around Fundementals, Skills, and Touch.

The Tiny-Shots Academy Program

The Tiny-Shots Soccer Academy (U6-U8 Boys & Girls) is first and foremost serves as a developmental academy to prepare players for their journey in Select Soccer. Each player will be exposed to KASC coaches/Players sharing a common KASC coaching curriculum. Our Staff includes former professional players, KASC Trainers, current coaches, and current players. This blend of expertise allows KASC to address the need of the youth players at every stage of their youth development. This is a non-competitive program; scores are not kept. The fields and goals are scaled down and the teams are small sided to maximize their time with the ball. Fewer players on the field mean more opportunity to be in the action!

The goals for the Tiny-Shots Academy

Tiny-Shots will focus on FUN, TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT and SPORTSMANSHIP. First comes “FUN”, because when children enjoy soccer, learning takes care of itself, therefore allowing players wanting to come back for “more.” TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT is vital, without basic skills, players are limited in their athletic expression and their enjoyment for soccer. The Tiny-Shots Academy aims to instill a solid technical base in each player, so that they have the foundation of Select soccer. Finally, SPORTSMANSHIP is crucial. Soccer is a team sport, so players must absorb the basic elements of SPORTSMANSHIP: teamwork, cooperation, listening, basic work ethic, and attention to instruction. Even if a player does not continue with soccer, these elements of SPORTSMANSHIP will serve them well in school, work and life.
