Q. What is Premier Level Soccer?

A. Youth soccer in the Cincinnati area is played at the Recreational, Selectl and Premier levels.

Recreational level soccer, or house leagues, generally consist of town teams open to all players. All players are accepted, there are no tryouts.

Select level soccer in the Cincinnati area is played in the Cincinnati United Soccer League. Select soccer is more competitive than recreational. There are often tryouts and teams generally consist of the best players from each town or area. Select soccer often requires a greater time and financial commitment than recreational level soccer.

Premier level soccer brings together the best players from the Greater Cincinnati area to compete against the best players from other Premier Level clubs and often compete in some of the highest level Tournaments against the best players in the Midwest. Premier soccer often requires a greater time and financial commitment than Select soccer.

Q. Why should my child play Premier Level Soccer?

A. Players only grow when challenged. A player that is left un-challenged at an early age will never need to develop skill sets to find success. If left un-challenged this player will still only have their basic skills at a later age because they never had a need to develop.

Premier level soccer allows the best players to compete against each other on a regular basis in practice. Through premier level league play and attendance in some of the highest level tournaments nation-wide, players are further tested in competitive play. Older teams often attend College Showcase tournaments which will increase a player's exposure to college coaches.

Q. What age groups are served?

A. KASC supports programs for both Boys and Girls from the ages of 5-19. Competitive teams are offered for Boys and Girls from the ages of 8-19.

Q. What does a typical season consist of?

A. Tryouts are held at the end of each season. During the fall season, the younger teams often participate in competitive. The older teams take the fall off to allow players to participate in high school soccer.

The indoor Training Season starts in November and runs through April. Indoor often consists of 1 practice per week. Teams also have the option to enter a November-January and/or a January-March indoor league. Indoor league games generally occur once per week.

The Spring season runs from April through July. Teams practice 2 times per week. Teams play in the Cincinnati United Soccer League. Most teams enter 1-3 tournaments during the outdoor season.

Q. Where are practices and home games held?

A. Practices during the indoor season are held at TriCounty Sportsplex. Outdoor practices and home league games are held at Kolping Park and Joyce Park

Q. What is expected of a KASC player?

A. Players make a full year commitment to the Kolping American Soccer Club. Players are expected to attend most practices, have a positive attitude, be attentive, and work hard.

The KASC program requires a high level of commitment from players, parents and coaches. Participation in other sports or activities is accepted, primarily in the Fall and early Winter months. However, participation in other sports that require multiple activities per week could jeopardize the player's ability to develop or maintain skill sets that will help his or her team.

Q. What about ODP commitments?

A. KASC fully supports the ODP program. Should a conflict arise the ODP program shall take precedence over most KASC activities.
